Here I show its strengths (incredibly accurate predictions, great beauty) and weaknesses (gravity, life, dark matter/energy, runaway complexity).  I describe Modern Physics and the discovery of symmetry, beauty, and simplicity at the core of reality.  I also argue that theoretical physics is often very close to metaphysics. Experimental physics eschews metaphysics, but new discoveries at the level of fundamental particles make this more difficult as new sources of reality become increasingly beyond the senses. I also describe the paradoxes and the controversy among the physicists.
